Wow, I'm tired! It's been a rather full and busy weekend, but in a very good way. On Friday, fings had the closing on his new condo in the Jersey City Heights, I went along with him for moral support and such. As those who are also on fings' f-list know, I had my gallbladder removed on Friday. My belly is still very tender and ouchy, but getting better. Came home from the hospital yesterday. More gruesome details to follow tomorrow. Thanks to all who expressed good wishes.

I applied for grad school last month and I didn't get in. I'm not surprised by this and am not feeling bad. In a way, I'm feeling relieved because I no longer have to gnaw on whether or not I should apply, what would I do if I got rejected, if I got accepted, could I hack it, blah blah blah. 1. To say "no" to people when I need to, and stick with it.
2. To remember that I'm not responsible for the expectations my relatives have of me, and I'm not obligated to do everything they want me to do.
3. To set aside my insecurities and write those stories I keep meaning to write, no matter how crappy I'm afraid they'll be.
